Restoration Process

  • First things first- we conduct a full and thorough inspection of your pool equipment. One of the most common factors in a pool going green is that the chlorinator or cell isn't doing its job. It could be that your cell has worn out and is no longer producing the chlorine, or perhaps you have a chlorinator that requires a software update or the internal board has been fried in a recent storm but you haven't noticed. For a restoration to be successful, we need to address these types of issues before anything else. Essentially, if your equipment isn't working, restoring the pool will be a waste of time and money because it will end up going green again.

  • Secondly- our digital Water testing will show exactly where your chemical balance is out. If the balance is out, the ability of your equipment to do its job becomes very difficult. For example; your salt levels need to be at the recommended level for your chlorinator (these all vary) and if there has recently been a downpour of rain and you haven't added salt for the past 6 months, the chlorinator is unable to produce the chlorine which in turn lands you with a green pool.  Similarly, if your pool gets a lot of organic materials in it such as leaves or grass, this provides food for algae to grow and turns your pool green.

  • Action- Now that we know what has caused your pool to go green we can start work. With any repairs completed, we make several visits to balance and clean the pool over a period of time. Some pools may take 3 visits and some may take more but this will all be accounted for in the price we quote for you. Each visit we will test and balance the water adding any chemicals that are needed, we brush and scrub the pool, followed by a full vacuum and clean of the filters to make sure the end result is a crystal clear pool which is safe to swim in.

It takes a fair bit of work to get a green pool back, but we have conducted many restorations and enjoy seeing it looking amazing once it's done.
